Jump In 4 Health!

Jump In 4 Health is a program designed by Sole Jumpers Double Dutch, a jump rope program for boys and girls ages 6-17, was started in September 2008 as a YMCA program. Since its inception, the program has been based at The Andrew and Walter Young YMCA in Atlanta, Georgia. Within a year, more than 100 Atlanta-area youth, including their parents, have been directly exposed to the unique sport of Double Dutch and its health benefits. Today, there are 13 children on the team.

Sole Jumpers Double Dutch, is a program designed to introduce youth to a fun, healthy pastime that sparks a culture of outdoor play to aid in reducing/preventing childhood obesity. The Sole Jumpers Double Dutch program uses a two-pronged approach to connect children to our “sole” purpose by focusing on: (1) physical exercise through the soles of their shoes and (2) mental discipline through the art of teamwork.

To accomplish our mission, the Sole Jumpers Double Dutch holds classes twice a week for team members to help them discover:

• Endurance via a warm-up routine
• Jumping, tumbling and breathing exercises
• Impacts of exercise on health and childhood disease
• Nutritious snack alternatives

Sole Jumpers Double Dutch has held training workshops/demonstrations for other local organizations spearheading health-related programs for children.
